Lead Generation – There Is a Better Way to Attract Prospects – Part II

In the previous post on MLM Lead Generation we discussed the traditional methods of getting recruits/associates/team members into your MLM or Direct Sales Business. There is a better way!

Social Media platforms allow you to present your information and optimize the content so that people who are social media looking for what you offer can be directed to your various websites through organic searches. Through these platforms you can provide content that they can absorb at their own pace.  The content may be in the form of articles and posts, as well as PDF files that they can download, so that when they are ready they can contact you, the Direct Sales Consultant, rather than you hounding them.

Where are some places you can provide content?

1)  A Blog:  A blog allows you to create categories and write posts that show your expertise.  Because you know who your ideal prospect is and the type of information they need, your posts will be geared to providing answers to blogquestions that are generally asked by people who are interested in learning more about your network business.  What’s more, since your blog should be your home on the Internet, by allowing visitors to read your content and ask questions, they get to know, like and trust you.

2) Article Directories:  Writing articles and submitting these to the Article Directories is a great way to get exposure for yourself by positioning yourself as an expert in your market.  The article directory that I’d encourage you to get started with is ezinearticles.com.  It must be noted that ezinearticles.com does not allow you to do any self-promotion in the body of your article, but you can use the body to provide valuable, specific, targeted information.  The Resource Box at the end of each article gives you the opportunity to talk about yourself and direct your readers back to your website.

Types of Websites:  Social Media allows you to have lots of choices on where to direct your reader to get more information.  It is important to keep in mind, however, that while you have many choices with social media sites, they are not owned by you so while you can send your readers to various sites, you always want to make sure that there’s a way to get them back to your blog.  What are some of the sites you can create?

1)  Squidoo lenses

2)  Hub pages

3)  Facebook Fan Page or Business Page

4)  There are other social media platforms that you can utilize, but if you start with these three, your blog, and article marketing, you can build a network of information so that people will be able to find you in the search engines.

There are steps you need to take to make sure that your websites will appear in organic search results.  What are these steps?  These and more details on the social media platforms will be considered over the next few days.

I invite you to share if you’ve used any of these platforms and what results you’ve experienced.

I find having a consistent tag line, and mass publishing so that you seem to be everywhere at once seems to help increase traffic.

I’ve also noticed a bit of a resurgence of Blogger blogs … may be they’ve always been everywhere, but suddenly I’m seeing much more of them in my Twitter feeds.

    Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for coming over and sharing your insight, Dee. I apologize that I overlooked your comment. I need to check if my spam filter is working or set up correctly on this blog as I receive so many spam comments, real ones often get overlooked.

Regarding Blogger blogs, it could be that many of those persons are new online. When I first started in 2008 I did not know about hosted blogs and my first blogs were created there. What surprises me is that there are some persons who’ve been online for quite some time who still use that platform. It does not belong to them and they could lose their hard work overnight!

    Hi Yvonne,

Well, I’ve dabbled with Squidoo, but not very seriously. I actually have a very useful article on there that I should probably find and repurpose. I never have ventured into HubPages. I’m going to revisit both of these options.

    Thanks for the advice,
    Gwen
